Crowned Canine Grooming Agreement

1. Our Commitment & Scheduling

At Crowned Canine, we utilize a one-on-one grooming model to ensure your pet receives undivided attention in a low-stress environment. Because we do not overlap appointments, we kindly ask for your cooperation with the following:

• Arrival & Pick-up: Please drop off exactly at your scheduled time. Being 15 minutes late will result in a late cancellation and requires full payment. During pick-up, if the door is locked (as we may be bathing the next pet), please call 505.550.6002.
• Late Pick-up Fees: We are not a licensed boarding facility. Collection more than 30 minutes after the designated time will incur a fee of $10 per every 15 minutes.
• Service Changes: Due to our scheduling, it is not always possible to change a grooming style after the service has started. Please discuss any changes for future appointments during drop-off.
• All sales are final, no refunds

2. Health, Safety, & Liability

While we take every precaution, pets are "wiggly" creatures and grooming involves sharp tools.

• Liability Waiver: Crowned Canine is not responsible for any conditions or problems discovered during grooming, nor for accidental death resulting from undisclosed pre-existing health conditions. The owner acknowledges that nicks, scratches, and "quicking" of nails may occur despite our utmost care.
• Emergency Care: If we determine urgent veterinary care is required, we will attempt to contact you immediately. If you or your vet is unavailable, you authorize Crowned Canine to use a vet of our choice. The owner agrees to pay all associated fees for any injury not directly caused by the grooming process.
• Senior Pets (9+): Senior pets are at a greater risk for physical or mental stress. We prioritize comfort over aesthetics for our seniors.
• Vaccines & Parasites: All pets must be current on all state-mandated vaccines or titers. We reserve the right to refuse service for pets with contagious diseases (e.g., Kennel Cough), fleas, ticks, or other parasites.

3. Coat Care & Specialty Services

• Matted Coat Policy: Shaving a matted pet is the most humane way to remove mats. This process increases the risk of nicks and skin irritation (redness/itching). Crowned Canine will NOT be held responsible for any injury sustained while grooming a matted pet, including aftereffects like hematomas or self-inflicted abrasions.
• Minimal matting: Extra fee of $10 per 15 minutes of brushing.
• Severe matting: At the sole discretion of Crowned Canine, the coat will be shaved.
• Double Coats: We make every effort to minimize shedding but DO NOT shave double-coated breeds unless deemed medically necessary.
• Handstripping & Carding: We offer handstripping for wire-coated breeds and carding for sporting breeds. These are timed services (1–4 hour intervals). Best results require frequent grooming; longer intervals may result in a "blown coat" and temporary thinning.
• Cording: We offer cording services (applicable breeds only). Cording is a specialized process of controlled matting. This is a timed service (1–4 hour intervals) and is charged based on labor.
• Creative Grooming: We use PET-SAFE VEGAN dyes only. Lightening dark coats requires a staged process. Patch tests are recommended. These are timed services and must be scheduled in advance.

4. Behavior & Photo Release

• Aggression: You confirm that you have truthfully disclosed if your pet has ever bitten or shown aggression. You are solely responsible for any injury or property damage caused by your pet.
• Photos: We love sharing our work! All photos taken are the property of Crowned Canine and may be used for social media or marketing.

5. Financial & Cancellation Policies

·       Booking Fees:  A $50 nonrefundable booking fee is required for new or infrequent clients; the $50 fee is applied to the final cost of the groom.

·       Confirmation Deadline: To secure your requested date, the $50 non-refundable booking fee must be paid and this Grooming Agreement must be signed within 48 hours of booking. Failure to do so will result in the automatic cancellation of your appointment.

• Cancellations: We require 48 hours' notice for any changes.
• Insufficient Notice: You agree to pay the FULL price of the estimated groom.
• Repeated No-Shows: More than three missed appointments may result in the forfeiture of future services.
• Weather: We follow APS and RRPS closure schedules.
• Property Etiquette: Please clean up after your pet outside. Waste bags are located on the trashcan. PLEASE KEEP PETS OUT OF NEIGHBORING GARDENING AREAS.
